Personally I’m a Trollblood player from the very beginning. I must admit that I made my choice just by looking on miniatures. I love their style and blue skin is the main component.
This thing should be fairly easy, just remember to keep your paint diluted and be patient. 🙂
Paints used:
- Vallejo Black Model Color, 17ml
- Scale75 Caspian Blue or P3 Paint – Trollblood Base
- Vallejo White Model Color, 17ml
Step 1. Base Coat:
I like to keep it simple pallet on most surfaces. Three colors is more than enough in most cases. I used Caspian Blue, but if you decided to go with Trollblood Base, you should add matte medium. I mixed my base color with a little bit of black, it will make great base coat.
Step 2. First highlights:
Now it’s time to mark highlighted areas. Just use pure base color. Mark typical places like forehead, cheekbones, nose(?), chin etc.
Step 3. More highlights:
Add more white to the mixture and paint areas marked in last step. It’s good time to paint the spots that aren’t skin with some dark color. It will help with black lining in final stage.
Step 4. Final highlights:
At this point you can use pure white or ad only a little bit of base color. This step is similar to one before, only this time you need to cover even less space.
Step 5. Painting details:
You can paint remaining details in style that fits your army, just keep them very bright. I like to paint Trollblood scales, eyes and nails with the same color as skin just brighter. For mouth I use deep dark red and white.
